Three Wonderful Tales with Pictures to Match.  So-Sli And Ho-Fi, or the Wicked Husband  *  Fun And Hey-Ho, the Lovers of Peking  *  Ah-Fum And Ah-Fee, or the Rival Scholars.

New York: McLoughlin Bros, ca. 1882. Small 4to, [49] pp; leather-backed printed pictorial boards (as issued), spine and cover edges rubbed.

First edition, apparently also issued as three separate picture-books for children, the first two titles narrated in double-column prose, the last in verse, each of the titles illustrated with 6 full-page chromolithographs designed by the author employing typical racist stereotype Asian images.

This copy originated from the publisher’s archives with a label affixed to the upper cover ““Office Sample”.
